Minnie Haskins transferred knowledge about Give-Away to me when I was a child. It wasn’t until I was in my 20s and met First Nations people from other places that I discovered the importance and significance of Give-Away as Ceremony. Give-Away must be created with a joyful heart and a spirit of humility. Give-Away is about kindness, and taking the time to create something that can be shared with others.

My online Give-Aways are EQ8 quilt patterns. During Covid lock down, I taught myself EQ8. I was already a EQ7 user, and upgraded to the later edition. I spent time exploring everything about EQ8. The .PJ8 files below are free downloads. Open in EQ8, and the quilt patterns are ready to use. Please post finished quilts made with one of these patterns with #quiltinggeometry.

These designs are part of Quilting Geometry, an after school program to teach middle school students how to quilt. They are a great source for Give-Away quilts for guilds and community groups. EQ8 Software

You must have EQ8 in order to open and use the .PJ8 files. The software is available to purchase for many sources online. If you have EQ7 you can save money by upgrading. STEPS 2 DOWNLOAD:
1) Click Image to Download; 2) Move Download .PJ8 file to you My EQ8 > Projects folder; 3) Open EQ8. On the Welcome Page Select "Open an Existing Project; and 4) Select the file in the Project Helper window. **If for some reason you don't see the file > Select "Click Here to Open a Project Not Listed Above" at the bottom of the Project Helper window.
